1. What is Canton Fair?
China Import and Export Fair, also known as Canton Fair, is established in 1957. Co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of PRC and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province and organized by China Foreign Trade Center, it is held every spring (April 15 ~May 5) and autumn (Oct 15~Nov 4) in Guangzhou, China. Canton Fair is a comprehensive international trading event with the longest history, the largest scale, the most complete exhibit variety, the largest buyer attendance, the broadest distribution of buyers’ source country in China.
The import exhibitions are set in the first and third phases respectively. The first phase of the exhibition will be electronic and home appliances, building materials and hardware, machinery and equipment. The third phase of the exhibition will cover food and beverage, household items, fabrics and home textiles. The exhibition area of the exhibition will be around 20,000 square meters, which will attract more than 600 high-quality overseas enterprises from about 50 countries and regions.
The 125th Canton Fair will be held in the China Import and Export Fair center from April 15 to May 5, 2019. There are total 60,000 booths in the fair, and the exhibition area is about 1.185 million square meters. The Export Exhibition set up 51 exhibition areas according to 16 categories of products.

3.Why is it difficult to find new products in the Canton Fair?
As the longest history and largest exhibition in China, you can find a wide range of products and get a good price for the basic products.
The Chinese supplier rarely exhibit original design and market-competitive product at the show. In the absence of intellectual property protection, the Canton Fair is not a very good new product release platform, that is why you can’t find the real innovation or original design products.
The lack of innovation/original design capabilities has always been a common weakness for China suppliers. The growing up of worker’s salary and housing rents cost are gradually reducing the supplier’s profit. The development of new product means the emerengency of new cost-consuming centers and higher market risk. There is no designer who can ensure his/her design product that will become the market trend of the new season. Among the many raw material suppliers, you can find some new fabric which are suitable for your market then work with your supplier to develop the new product for the next season.
